Love is immortal

Love is the highest emotion. It is the purest and the divine feeling. It makes life beautiful. It gives us the freedom to revive and survive the hardship of life. No matter how materialistic the society becomes still we all need, we all seek love. It is like some basic necessity of life, without it we are drained of all our energies.

Nilanjana and Dev were madly in love with each other, they were inseparable. Dev was an orphan and Nilanjana was a daughter of government official, her mother worked as a teacher in a private school.  She was the only child of her parents. On completing MBA both Dev and Nilanjana got good placement. They both got recruited by the same organization.

In spite of work and time constraints they both managed to spare moments of happiness for each other.  Love blossomed, got stronger and memories were made.  Now it was the perfect time for them to enter the new phase of their life and experience the marital bliss.  Dev was welcomed with open arms by Nilanjana’s parents. They were very happy with their daughter’s choice.

The wedding date was finalized. Preparations were almost complete; Nilanjana looked beautiful with a pearl like glow on her face.

But fate, destiny had some other plans…..

Dev had gone to meet and invite his distant relatives in his home town somewhere near Jalpaiguri. But he was stunned when he reached there and saw that the entire family had met a fatal accident, no one survived except Nivedita his cousin’s wife. Seeing this misery his world turned upside down. After the cremation procedures he went to meet Nivedita who underwent a miscarriage, she was left all alone and no body to look after.  It was a spur of moment decision and he married Nivedita to protect and support her. He couldn’t think of anything else in this moment of grief and sadness. Being an orphan he knew the pains of loneliness. On returning back to Kolkatta it was tough to face Nilanjana and her family, but he had to explain them the entire thing.

Nilanjana was broken. Her dreams shattered.  She never married in spite of repetitive persuasion by the family. She only had Dev in her heart.

Around five years passed Nilanajana changed her job and was doing really well in her carrier, she got good raise and was fairly satisfied with her life.

Dev and his wife were blessed with a beautiful daughter Shagun, but with extreme cardiac deformity, she had an enlarged heart, and sooner or later needed a donor. Shagun’s condition worsened. Dev and Nivedita watched their daughter helplessly in so much pain. Time can be cruel, how does it feel to see your loved ones dying in front of your eyes and you watch them wanting to do anything to save them but unable to fight with harsh realities. Their days and night were spend outside ICU waiting for a miracle to happen.  Dev left no stone unturned to find a donor but in vain.

Almost a weak passed and finally Dev’s prayer were answered. His baby Shagun got the much needed transplant. Three days after the surgery her conditions started improving. She was kept under strict observation. Dev and Nivedita were keen to meet and thank the donor’s family, after much persuasion the doctor told them the details. Dev was speechless. It was Nilanjana.

Nilanjana came to know about shagun‘s condition from a mutual friend and was on her way to the Hospital to meet Dev and his family where she met with an accident. The only thing she could mutter while taking her last breath was that her organs be donated to the needy and her heart to Shagun.

Love is immortal.....
Love is a priceless gift of God.
