The Boat School of Varanasi – Temple of learning

 

“The holy Ghats and the pious river,

Bright rays of sun and the sight so spun with faith and hope.

The yearning to learning and the dream to develop,

The power to grow with the blessings of mother,

Young mind so raw with care they draw the path of life,

Our hands to guide and support their journey of doing right.

With pleasure and delight let unit,

To purpose divine, to this deed so fine”.

The social concern which always remains closest to my heart and mind is education. Providing quality learning to the young minds is the only way to break the shackles of disharmony prevalent in our society.
Still we see our young generation loitering around carelessly with no body to guide them. They lack the approach to right direction. They need the moral support which can aid in finding them their desired direction in life.

For socio economic progress of our country we need to expand and increase our literacy rates. But keeping in mind that quality is never suffered.

Recently through a friend of mine I came to know about one such wonderful initiative started by a social organization in Varanasi. The magical transformation that will provide the children an enhanced learning environment. This Initiative is the called the Varanasi Boat School.  The NGO is driven to provide the kids with ideal learning environment.  Children need to spend just two hours after their regular school day and play, learn, revise, study the subject of their interest without feeling any pressure or stress. Just a happy mind and a joyful spirit. This is also helpful in shaping up the creative minds in a constructive way as time is no more wasted.

This boat school needs some magical transformation so that it can work with increased potentials and the kids feel privileged. I was overwhelmed when I visited their online whereabouts- that they strongly support and provide solutions for the biggest challenges that India faces

So what’s pulling us back from doing the right, gone are the times when sitting, debating and showing mute concern was all we did. It’s time for action. Contribute in whatever way you can. Spread awareness about this unique initiative, devise scholarship ideas and donation is also acceptable; just visit their site and Do Right. 

With our help this initiative shall run with full capacity and complement our society.  The children of Varanasi will get a great functional harbor of learning.  And gradually with a good foundation this initiative can be extended to the others cities.

The enriching sight to see kids studying in the lap of River Ganga amid the divine chants will bless us with more wisdom as well as encourage the children. Beyond the barriers of hesitation and doubt in minds let us support this unusual, very innovative and nurturing approach.
