A sportsperson with a determined aim to win and achieve
success puts in lots of hard work, where competition is always tough and the
wining margins are close. Performance, endurance, synchronized coordination of
mind and body plays a very important part in the winning shot. We win sometimes
and we loss on other times. It’s never same. We just need to learn how every
defeat can be turned to a win with optimism and hard work.
Cricket is the most popular and loved game in India. In every corner, lane or street we can find a
win as well as a defeat. Adding to the flavor is the ongoing world cup, the
excitement is insurmountable. With India high on the scale of winning this time
and the fingers are crossed till team India comes back with the world cup
trophy.
No doubt that the performance of our team has improved a
lot. Standards indeed have lifted up. And behind the success is never ending
determination of our players. Being a cricketer is not easy; the way this game
is followed and enjoyed in our country adds lot of limelight. In the course it
puts up a lot of pressure on players. With hundreds of camera following each
and every move, millions
watching over, with lot of hope and expectations, puts
up undue pressure on a player. With incidents of frivolous violence sometimes
being reported in media, needs some generous attention, any athlete for better
coordination while playing needs to have a calm and cool mind.
India is has large pool of talented people. We need to
harness the talent. There are no boundaries attached to a sportsperson. Sports
academies, fitness centers, working in real
spirit, is the need of time. With schools focusing solely on academic
development should rethink when a talent is getting hidden under the books.
With development of sports academies, centers and encouraging sports at the
school level shall definitely raise the bar.
Winning world cup first time in year 1983 followed by 2011
and first twenty -20 world cup in 2007, was a landmark win. Indian left its
mark loud and clear at the international level. Facing lots of highs and lows,
a phase of down curve followed by a significant rise, is the trend of Indian
cricketing scene.
The present statistics of ongoing world cup shows clearly
the superb performance by our team:-

There is also Indian women's cricket team with fairly good performance, winning
their first Asia Cup in 2004, this followed by many more laurels and
achievement won by team.
Though I am not much of a cricket fan, but I enjoy seeing
when India wins, patriotic feelings are high that time. Getting ridiculed on
losing and treated like kings on winning is not an apt behavior on our part, we
should accept defeat with a smile as we cherish high on every win. Without any
doubt our players work hard, they are determined and committed, and they have
their struggles but they come out with great colors.
