With so much being talked about women empowerment in recent times, lots of debate going on about India’s Daughter, where are we heading to? What future will unfold before us is really confusing. The picture is not clear and will never be. Cases of rape, domestic violence, dowry death, acid attacks, female infanticide, eve teasing are going on steady and increasing. Where is our yelling of slogan “Beti Bachao” leading us? NO WHERE, in fact.
We are at the same place, same point from where we started. Let
us accept it. Our endeavors are making no progress. They throw acid on us, rape
us, demean our living, what are these shameless, callous creatures made
of? And as my mother says, they are
devils, satan of “ Kalyuga” unlike monsters of medieval times with sharp and
long nails, black costumes, fiery eyes, the beast of present times looks normal
like us. Features of beast are deep in heart. To eradicate this monsters we are not to
expect an incarnation, the savior is there in each one of us. We just have to
evaluate our individual struggles and with determination and courage work on
them. We are in no position to wait for
change to happen. We need to do our bit to contribute towards this change.
Education is the biggest weapon. Let us spare or contribute in whatever way we
can to help educate our society.
We the women, wants love, respect, understanding, care,
dignity, autonomy, freedom to expression and thoughts, nothing more than
this. We are not “Goddesses”, we never
want to be portrayed, prayed and treated like deities. And the people who do so
need to change their mindset. We are not ten on ten, we have our flaws, and we
have some downs. Why don’t we accept each other as we are?
Referring us, the women on earth, as Goddess is awkward,
disagreeable. We are not idols, we are humans with colourful dreams and vibrant ambitions.
There are lots of women whom I admire, take them on high
regards and esteem like Mother Teresa, Sarojini Naidu, Amrita Pritam, Lata Mangeshkar, Saina Nehwal to name a few, they followed their heart, paved paths on their own terms........

The best way to convey reverence is show love, respect, learn as well as practice good deeds....

DeleteI am glad that you liked it.
I still feel times will change for the better, maybe it is just a hope but it is there.
ReplyDeleteWe all wish and pray same that things change for better.
DeleteWell, our society is so diverse that it is not right to say we aren't making progress - perhaps we are but not in a rate where we would like to - and for that everyone needs to join hand, everyone need to keep their voices heard, till it starts resonating with the whole country. We should have the lamp of hope in our heart.
ReplyDeleteHope for good things is always there. May be we are making a slow progress, as figure of crimes is increasing at a fast pace. We need to keep up our spirits. :-)
DeleteChange is the rule of Nature, hope all this will change some day.
ReplyDeleteExactly, we should hope for the best.
DeleteThanks.
